On Thursday 10th March, members of the London Mint Office team attended No. 10 Downing Street alongside Phil McDermott of Worcestershire Medal Service, Terry Jervis of Jervis Entertainment Media and Air Commodore David Prowse, Director of Membership at the RAF Association, to officially present the United Kingdom with the ‘Many and the Few’ 75th Anniversary Battle of Britain Medal.
Air Commodore David Prowse presented the ‘Many and the Few’ 75th Commemorative Medal to Colonel Nicholas Perry who received the medal on behalf of the Prime Minister, David Cameron.
“I am delighted to receive the official Battle of Britain Medal on behalf of the Prime Minister”.
Through discussions around the Battle of Britain campaign it was clear both Colonel Nicholas Perry and Prime Minister David Cameron have a strong passion about the history of WWII and the commemorations around these major historic milestones – 75th Anniversary of Battle of Britain and anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.
Colonel Perry was particularly interested in discussing the in depth design of the medal with designers Daniel Penney and George Wright.
Colonel Perry felt honored to be presented with the ‘Many and the Few’ 75th Commemorative Medal which honors a crucial moment in history, the RAF’s finest hour.
